A crisp, open sky after dark, with light air out of the NW with the glass holding level. The fish at Lac Lambert are likely to sit near the weed line and any gaps in it. A hard day on paper; the morning edges the rest. Go lighter and slower than usual. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Set in Capitale-Nationale, Quebec, this is Lac Lambert. It sits in lake country bush. Small at around 7 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. It lies lower than most water we list in Quebec. Saint-Ubalde is the closest place, 17 km off. It is 65 km to Sainte-Foy, the nearest city. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Open biodiversity records for Capitale-Nationale list lake sturgeon, Atlantic sturgeon, longnose sucker and sauger. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. Lac Lambert gives up more to patience than to distance.
Expect July near 18°C and January near -14°C on the long-run figures. The freeze arrives properly here and holds. Break-up comes around late April, and the run that follows is short and strong. Ice usually gives way near late April, and forms again about late November. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. At Lac Lambert the season follows that pattern closely.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. For walleye, a jig and minnow near the bottom is the standard; evenings beat middays. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac Castor, 1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. For Lac Lambert in particular, ask before you travel.
