Overcast skies today, with a light chop building from the SSW with the glass holding level. The fish at Lac Beausoleil are likely to sit near shallow cover and weed edges. One clear peak today: the morning. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Lac Beausoleil sits within Laurentides in Quebec. The surroundings are mixed forest. Around 15 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. There is roughly 1.9 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts lies 8.1 km from the water. After that come Val-David at 9.2 km and Val-Morin at 13 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth figures are not published for this one. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Survey and observation records for Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. Fish Lac Beausoleil where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
Between January at about -14°C and July at about 18°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Break-up near late April, freeze-up near late November: that is the shape of an average year. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. The season on Lac Beausoleil rarely departs from it.
No access rule appears in what we hold. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. No launch point is recorded nearby, so this is a bank water unless you carry a boat in. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac McLeod, 0.7 km away, makes the obvious fallback. What applies at Lac Beausoleil may have changed since it was mapped.
