Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a gentle ripple from the SSW and pressure going nowhere. Expect most activity at Lac Wilson around the first drop-off and weed lines. The morning carries the best of the day. Ride the conditions while they last. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Lac Wilson is listed under Laurentides, Quebec. It sits at 473 metres above sea level. Small even by pond standards, it rewards one careful line. It is a small entry by Laurentides standards. The closest town, Val-David, is 12 km away. Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts is 12 km and Val-Morin 15 km. Neighbouring water: Lac Menard some 1.9 km off, Lac Sarrazin at 1.9 km, Lac a Simard some 2 km off, Lac de la Montagne at 2 km and Lac Davis some 2.5 km off. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
We hold no survey for this water; read the slope of the shoreline instead. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Fish documented in Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. On Lac Wilson the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
July runs about 18°C on average, January about -14°C. The year runs cold to warm and back, with clear transitions. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about late April. Open water usually runs from late April until about late November. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. On Lac Wilson that shapes the whole year.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. There are toilets 1.5 km off. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Failing this one, try Lac Menard, 1.9 km away. Ask locally about Lac Wilson if anything is unclear.
