Partly cloudy skies today, with light air out of the SSW and no real change in pressure. Give windblown banks where food collects the first hour at Lac Zepp. A stay-home graph, with the middle of the day as the one excuse to go. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

This water sits in Outaouais, Quebec. This is mixed forest ground. With some 10 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. Saint-Boniface lies 50 km from the water. Gatineau is the closest city, 145 km away. Not far off: Lac Bouee sits 1.3 km out, 2.4 km out stands Lac Barton, Lac Tilley sits 3.1 km out, 3.1 km out stands Lac Ely and Lac Mashie sits 3.5 km out. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Fish documented in Outaouais include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. Fish Lac Zepp to its features, not to its size.
Averages here run 18°C at the top of summer and -16°C at the bottom of winter. Winter closes the water for a while, and the reopening is worth catching. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from late April. Average temperatures cross freezing around late April in spring and again near late November in autumn. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. It holds true on Lac Zepp more years than not.
We hold no note on access for this one. No slipway, car park or made path shows up nearby in mapping, so treat access as rough. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Lac Bouee sits 1.3 km off and takes the overflow. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Zepp for certain.
