Rain on and off through the day, with a light SSW breeze with a settled glass. The water to cover at Lac Hades is reed fringes and open pockets. The forecast is against you; the night is the least bad option. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Lac Hades is set in Outaouais, Quebec. It sits in rolling bush country. Around 15 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. The bank runs about 2.0 km all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. Head to Saint-Boniface, 55 km away, for anything you forgot. The big place round here is Gatineau, 149 km distant. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
There is no published depth for this one, so start shallow and work out. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Across Outaouais, recorded fish include pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Lac Hades gives up more to patience than to distance.
Average temperature peaks around 18°C in July and bottoms out near -16°C in January. Winter shuts things down for a spell, then spring reopens them fast. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Expect the water usable from around late April until roughly late November. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. Lac Hades runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
No access rule appears in what we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Mapping shows a jetty some 1.1 km off. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. A phone call first saves an afternoon. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. If the gate is shut, Lac Iona at 0.6 km is the nearest alternative. For Lac Hades, the notice at the access point is the final word.
