Bright, clear skies over the water today, with an easy breeze from the SSW and pressure going nowhere. Give points where shallow meets deep the first hour at Lac Dickson. The useful hours run afternoon into evening. Trust the forecast and stay out through the window. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Outaouais, Quebec, is where Lac Dickson sits. It sits at 383 metres above sea level. The water covers some 69 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. The bank runs about 4.9 km all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. On our Outaouais list it sits near the top for size. The town to know is Saint-Boniface, 48 km out. After that come Maniwaki at 54 km and Saint-Raphaël at 58 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
We hold no depth figure for this one. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Public occurrence data for Outaouais names pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. Lac Dickson repays a walk before the first cast.
Between January at about -15°C and July at about 18°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Winter shuts the surface down for months. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly late April. On average, late April opens the water and late November closes it again. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. Anyone fishing Lac Dickson regularly works to that calendar.
Our records carry no access rule either way. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Lac Jacob sits 1.4 km off and takes the overflow. Nothing on Lac Dickson should be assumed from this page alone.
