Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a helpful ripple pushed from the SW and steady pressure. Most of the action on Lac Panere should come off the margins and the shelf beyond them. A grinding day likely, with the evening worth the effort if any is. Scale down and fish slowly. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Lac Panere falls in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, part of Quebec. The setting is northern bush. Roughly 14 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. The edge runs 2.4 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. For a base, Senneterre sits 109 km out. It is 237 km to Gatineau, the nearest city. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Records held for Abitibi-Témiscamingue cover northern pike, yellow perch, walleye, white sucker and brown bullhead. The county list is broader than any single water. Lac Panere responds to conditions more than to tactics.
The year swings from about -17°C in January to roughly 17°C in July. Open water is the exception rather than the rule here. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around early May. On average, early May opens the water and mid November closes it again. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. The season on Lac Panere rarely departs from it.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No launch point is recorded nearby, so this is a bank water unless you carry a boat in. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. If the gate is shut, Lac des Crioceres at 0.5 km is the nearest alternative. Treat Lac Panere as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
