Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a soft SSW wind and no real change in pressure. Expect most activity at Lac Neodyme around inflow corners and shaded margins. If you must go, go in the middle of the day. Keep baits small and presentations quiet. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Lac Neodyme lies in Outaouais, in Quebec. Elevation runs to 333 metres. Start from Saint-Boniface, 44 km down the road. It is 159 km to Gatineau, the nearest city. Others worth noting: Lac Malvoisie at 1.5 km, Lac Buckshot sits 1.9 km out, Lac Calcaire at 1.9 km, Lac Vason sits 1.9 km out and Lac Armstrong at 2.1 km. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Records held for Outaouais cover pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Lac Neodyme repays a walk before the first cast.
Between January at about -16°C and July at about 18°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly late April. Ice clears near late April and comes back about late November in a typical year. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. Lac Neodyme fishes to that pattern most years.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Check locally before you travel, because a wasted drive is a long one. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Lac Malvoisie, 1.5 km away, makes the obvious fallback. None of that is settled for Lac Neodyme in what we hold.
