Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a light chop building from the SSW and no real change in pressure. Fish at Lac Armstrong should hold close to the shallows early and the drop later. A stay-home graph, with the middle of the day as the one excuse to go. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water.

Lac Armstrong is one of the Outaouais listings for Quebec. It lies 242 metres above sea level. At about 67 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The margin runs to about 6.7 km in total. On our Outaouais list it sits near the top for size. The town to know is Saint-Boniface, 43 km out. Beyond it, Maniwaki at 56 km and Ferme-Neuve at 61 km. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. The near bank of Lac Armstrong is often the one people ignore.
The warm month here averages 18°C; the cold one sits at -16°C. The year splits cleanly: hard water, then open water. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near late April. From about late April to around late November, expect open water on the long-run figures. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. On Lac Armstrong the same rules apply, with local timing.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. No slipway, car park or made path shows up nearby in mapping, so treat access as rough. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Lac Bal, 1.1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. The position on Lac Armstrong is worth confirming on the day.
