A stay-home graph, with the middle of the day as the one excuse to go. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Set in Laurentides, Quebec, this is Lac Lowell. The country here is rolling bush. At about 32 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The bank runs about 4.0 km all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. On our Laurentides list it sits near the top for size. The nearest town is Saint-Boniface, 46 km away. Further out sit Ferme-Neuve (58 km) and Maniwaki (59 km). It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Records held for Laurentides cover pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and brook trout. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. The near bank of Lac Lowell is often the one people ignore.
The warm month here averages 18°C; the cold one sits at -16°C. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around late April. Break-up sits around late April on average, with the water closing again about late November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Time your trip to Lac Lowell by conditions rather than dates.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. No built facilities appear in mapping around this water. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Should this one be busy, Lac Andelot is 1 km off. What applies at Lac Lowell may have changed since it was mapped.
