Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with a faint SSW drift and no real change in pressure. Whatever swims in Lac Baioque should be near the shaded margin through bright spells. A stay-home graph, with the middle of the day as the one excuse to go. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water.

Out in Laurentides, Quebec, sits Lac Baioque. It stands 228 metres above sea level. Around 21 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. The edge runs 3.1 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. Ground here is low by Quebec standards. Start from Saint-Boniface, 46 km down the road. Ferme-Neuve is 56 km and Maniwaki 59 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
Our records hold no depth for this water. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Laurentides records list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass among the fish reported. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. Lac Baioque responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Average temperature peaks around 18°C in July and bottoms out near -16°C in January. The season turns properly here, and fish follow it closely. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about late April. The lid tends to go about late April and return around late November. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Baioque.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. There is no mapped parking or launch close by, which usually means walking in. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Lac Lavande, 0.6 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Treat Lac Baioque as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
