Dull, settled light over the water, with a useful SSW wind pushing food about and the barometer holding steady. Expect most activity at Lac Moos around the shallows early and the drop later. Little to get excited about, though the night holds a sliver of promise. Lower the pace and stay patient.

Lac Moos belongs to Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec. The water sits 578 metres up. The water measures roughly 4 hectares, so nothing here is far from anything else. It is high ground by Quebec standards. For a base, Normandin sits 55 km out. It is 164 km to Saguenay, the nearest city. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Fish documented in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. At Lac Moos light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Long-run averages give July about 16°C and January about -19°C. Long winters and short summers set the pattern. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about early May. Ice clears near early May and comes back about mid November in a typical year. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Moos.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Lac des Bonbons at 1.2 km is the sensible second choice. None of that is settled for Lac Moos in what we hold.
