Soft grey light all day today, with a busy SSW wind on the open water and pressure sitting still. Activity on Lac Delme should centre on bays that hold the day's warmth. Everything points to the night. Take the steady approach over the searching one. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Lac Delme is a Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean water, Quebec side. The ground around here is spruce and muskeg. It covers about 4 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. By elevation it is in the upper part of our Quebec listings. The closest town, Normandin, is 56 km distant. Beyond it, Saint-Félicien at 59 km and Albanel at 63 km. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Fish documented in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. The shape of Lac Delme rewards a slow walk along one bank.
In an average year July sits at 16°C and January at -19°C. The year here is short and sharp: a long lid, then a burst of open water. Ice is part of the season here, ending near early May. Averages place the thaw at early May and the freeze at mid November. The strong weeks are the first after break-up and the last before the freeze. Lac Delme fishes to that pattern most years.
No access rule appears in what we hold. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Should this one be busy, Lac Vulbens is 0.6 km off.
