Soft grey light all day today, with enough SSW wind to stack food downwind and pressure going nowhere. Most of the action on Lac du Bijou should come off the first drop-off and weed lines. A stay-home graph, with the night as the one excuse to go. Save the long walk for a better forecast. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lac du Bijou sits within Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean in Quebec. This is northern bush ground. The water measures roughly 5 hectares, so nothing here is far from anything else. It sits higher than most water we list in Quebec. Normandin is the closest place, 60 km off. The nearest city of size is Saguenay, 169 km away. This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Reported across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean: northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. On Lac du Bijou the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
Climate normals give 16°C for July and -19°C for January. Ice holds for a long stretch, so the open weeks matter more here than further south. Ice-out usually falls in early May, and the weeks after it fish hardest. The season between ice runs from about early May to mid November. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. Time your trip to Lac du Bijou by conditions rather than dates.
Our records carry no access rule either way. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac de la Moto, 0.9 km away, makes the obvious fallback. What applies at Lac du Bijou may have changed since it was mapped.
