Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a persistent wind from the SSW with the barometer flat. Whatever swims in Lac Crevoux should be near the first drop-off and weed lines. Make the night the heart of the trip. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Lac Crevoux is listed under Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec. It lies 564 metres above sea level. By elevation it is in the upper part of our Quebec listings. The town to know is Normandin, 54 km out. The big place round here is Saguenay, 163 km distant. Other water within reach: Lac Jadelle 0.9 km, Lac Lavoie at about 1 km, Lac Vulbens 1.3 km, Lac Delme at about 1.9 km and Lac Moos 2.1 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Open biodiversity records for Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean list northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. At Lac Crevoux light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Long-run averages give July about 16°C and January about -18°C. Little of the calendar is open water, so timing counts for everything. The freeze runs deep into the year, with break-up near early May. Ice usually gives way near early May, and forms again about mid November. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lac Crevoux.
No access rule appears in what we hold. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. If the gate is shut, Lac Jadelle at 0.9 km is the nearest alternative. Signs at Lac Crevoux carry more weight than any list.
