Fresh rain topping the water up today, with mild air moving in from the SSW and pressure sitting still. Fish at Lac Lemieux should hold close to the seam between weed and open water. Make the morning the heart of the trip. Ride the conditions while they last. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Lac Lemieux belongs to Lanaudière, Quebec. The water sits 606 metres up. Roughly 15 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. The whole outline is near 1.5 km, and most of it is walkable. It is high ground by Quebec standards. Head to Saint-Donat-de-Montcalm, 8.2 km away, for anything you forgot. Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts follows at 23 km, then Val-David at 24 km. The boundary is near enough that local access rules are worth double-checking.
Depth figures are not published for this one. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Records held for Lanaudière cover pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and rock bass. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. At Lac Lemieux the water rewards a slow, careful approach.
Average temperature peaks around 18°C in July and bottoms out near -14°C in January. Winter closes the water for a while, and the reopening is worth catching. After late April the shallows warm and the fish move up. Climate figures give an open season running late April to late November. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. Lac Lemieux runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. There is a slipway on the shore, 1.3 km from the water we list. There is a jetty 1.3 km off, worth knowing on a busy day. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Lac Long, 1.3 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Rules at Lac Lemieux are worth checking on the day.
