Flat light and a covered sky today, with a helpful ripple pushed from the SSW with the barometer flat. The productive water at Lac Roberge will be around the margins and the shelf beyond them. The strongest window is the morning. Trust the forecast and stay out through the window. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

This water sits in Laurentides, Quebec. Everything around it is rolling bush. This is a pocket water of some 2 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. It is a small entry by Laurentides standards. Saint-Donat-de-Montcalm is the closest town at 14 km. The nearest city of size is Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne, 62 km away. This one sits near enough to a boundary to be worth checking.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Fish documented in Laurentides include pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Treat Lac Roberge as a water to read rather than to cover.
Typical July readings run about 18°C; by January the average is down near -14°C. Cold locks it up for a good stretch each year. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. On average, late April opens the water and late November closes it again. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. The season on Lac Roberge rarely departs from it.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Mapping records no facilities at all near this water. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. A phone call first saves an afternoon. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. For a change of water, Lac Clair is 0.9 km distant. For Lac Roberge, the notice at the access point is the final word.
