Overcast skies today, with mild air moving in from the SSW with the glass holding level. The water to cover at Lac des Iles is the first drop-off and weed lines. If you pick one session, make it the morning. Stay mobile and follow the activity. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Lac des Iles is one of the Lanaudière waters in Quebec. The surface lies 491 metres up. Roughly 21 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. The whole outline is near 2.3 km, and most of it is walkable. Nearest place of any size is Saint-Donat-de-Montcalm, 7.7 km away. The nearest city of size is Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne, 69 km away. The county edge is within a short distance of the bank.
We hold no depth figure for this one. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Lanaudière records list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch among the fish reported. The county figures include rivers and lakes alike. On Lac des Iles the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
Between January at about -14°C and July at about 18°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. The freeze runs deep into the year, with break-up near late April. Expect the water usable from around late April until roughly late November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. It holds true on Lac des Iles more years than not.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. You can launch from a ramp around 880 m away. Expect 1.1 km away in from where the car goes. Mapping shows a jetty some 750 m off. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. The nearest alternative is Lac Long, 0.7 km out. Confirm before you fish Lac des Iles.
