No direct sun expected today, with a light SSW breeze with a settled glass. Start the search at Lac Long along the margins and the shelf beyond them. The day peaks in the morning. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lac Long is a Lanaudière water, Quebec side. The water sits 509 metres up. At about 14 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. There is roughly 2.4 km of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. By elevation it is in the upper part of our Quebec listings. For a base, Saint-Donat-de-Montcalm sits 7.8 km out. Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne sits 69 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. This one sits near enough to a boundary to be worth checking.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Reported across Lanaudière: pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, rock bass and brook trout. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. Anyone new to Lac Long should walk it once before setting up.
Climate normals give 18°C for July and -14°C for January. Winter shuts things down for a spell, then spring reopens them fast. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near late April. Climate figures give an open season running late April to late November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. Anyone fishing Lac Long regularly works to that calendar.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Public data records a boat ramp 290 m out. Parking is not close: 1.2 km from the bank, and no nearer option is mapped. Fishing from a pier is possible 130 m away. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Lac des Iles, 0.7 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Signs at Lac Long carry more weight than any list.
