Flat light and a covered sky today, with a kind SSW breeze on the water and steady pressure. Most of the action on Lac Knight should come off the calm side of the wind. Numbers are low everywhere; the night is the pick of them. Scale down and fish slowly. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Within Outaouais, Quebec, you have Lac Knight. What surrounds it is pine and birch. At about 13 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. Around 2.1 km of margin, front to back. You are 44 km from Saint-Boniface. Maniwaki lies 47 km off, Saint-Raphaël another 49 km. Water in the same corner: Lac Commins 1.3 km away, Lac Hobbs 1.4 km off, Lac Cameronian 1.8 km away, Lac Noe 2.4 km off and Lac McCormick 3.2 km away. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Fish documented in Outaouais include pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. On Lac Knight the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
On the long-term average, July reads 18°C and January reads -15°C. Hard water is a season in its own right here. Winter locks it down, and late April brings it back. Average temperatures cross freezing around late April in spring and again near late November in autumn. The strong weeks are the first after break-up and the last before the freeze. Lac Knight runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Access status is simply unknown for this water. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. For a change of water, Lac Commins is 1.3 km distant. None of that is settled for Lac Knight in what we hold.
