Showers crossing the water today, with a faint SSW drift with the glass holding level. Give shallow cover and weed edges the first hour at Lac Evan. A hard day on paper; the night edges the rest. Scale down and fish slowly. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Look for Lac Evan in the Outaouais part of Quebec. What surrounds it is mixed forest. The water covers some 27 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. A shoreline of some 2.6 km keeps the choices simple. Some 44 km away sits Saint-Boniface, the nearest settlement. Beyond it, Maniwaki at 48 km and Saint-Raphaël at 52 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Public occurrence data for Outaouais names pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rainbow smelt and Iowa darter. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. The shape of Lac Evan decides where the fish sit.
Averages move between -15°C in January and 18°C in July. The middle months are generous; the ends are demanding. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around late April. Climate averages put the opening at about late April and the closing near late November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. At Lac Evan the season follows that pattern closely.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Mapping records no facilities at all near this water. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac Fee at 1.2 km is the sensible second choice. None of that is settled for Lac Evan in what we hold.
