Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a stiffish breeze from the SSW with a settled glass. On Lac Danae, work inflow corners and shaded margins first. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

The whole outline is near 1.7 km, and most of it is walkable. Compared with other Quebec water on our list, it sits high. Start from Normandin, 57 km down the road. The big place round here is Saguenay, 169 km distant. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
We hold no survey for this water; read the slope of the shoreline instead. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Fish documented in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. Read Lac Danae for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
Typical July readings run about 16°C; by January the average is down near -19°C. The fishing year opens late and shuts early. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around early May. Average temperatures cross freezing around early May in spring and again near mid November in autumn. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. Anyone fishing Lac Danae regularly works to that calendar.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Mapping records no facilities at all near this water. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. The nearest alternative is Lac Persee, 1.6 km out. Check the current arrangement for Lac Danae.
