Overcast skies today, with flat calm through the day with the glass holding level. Give windblown banks where food collects the first hour at Lac Dan. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

You will find Lac Dan in Mauricie, Quebec. The ground round it is taiga. Small at around 5 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. The nearest town is Leblanc, 80 km away. The big place round here is Trois-Rivières, 284 km distant. Within easy reach: Lac Turn a shade over 1.1 km, Lac Tempo 1.4 km away, Lac Telemaque a shade over 1.6 km, Lac Christie 1.8 km away and Lac Bren a shade over 2 km. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. County-wide records name northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. On Lac Dan that means starting tight and working out.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 16°C, while January sits near -18°C. Little of the calendar is open water, so timing counts for everything. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about early May. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly mid November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Lac Dan runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Nothing built is recorded close to the bank here. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Check locally before you travel, because a wasted drive is a long one. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Lac Turn at 1.1 km is the sensible second choice. None of that is settled for Lac Dan in what we hold.
