Overcast skies today, with the surface near flat with the barometer flat. Start the search at Lac Duquette along inflow corners and shaded margins. Not a day the forecast likes; the night keeps a flicker of interest. Lower the pace and stay patient. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

In Quebec, Lac Duquette belongs to Mauricie. What surrounds it is northern bush. With some 18 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. The whole outline is near 2.8 km, and most of it is walkable. Leblanc sits 81 km from the bank. Further out sit Manawan (121 km) and Weymontachie (122 km). No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Species logged across Mauricie include northern pike, brook trout, walleye and yellow perch. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. The shape of Lac Duquette decides where the fish sit.
On the long-term average, July reads 16°C and January reads -18°C. This far north the hard season runs and runs. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from early May. Break-up near early May, freeze-up near mid November: that is the shape of an average year. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. The season on Lac Duquette follows the weather closely.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Lac Seal, 0.5 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Duquette for certain.
