Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a soft W wind and no real change in pressure. Expect most activity at Lac Damas around the seam between weed and open water. The evening should out-fish the rest of the day. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Look for Lac Damas in the Capitale-Nationale part of Quebec. It stands 187 metres above sea level. With some 36 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. With about 4.4 km of edge, you can try several depths in one session. It ranks high for size among our Capitale-Nationale listings. Saint-Raymond lies 19 km from the water. Further out sit Saint-Ubalde (20 km) and Saint-Marc-des-Carrières (22 km). No border sits close enough to matter.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Survey and observation records for Capitale-Nationale include lake sturgeon, Atlantic sturgeon, longnose sucker and sauger. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. On Lac Damas the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 18°C, while January sits near -14°C. Winter shuts things down for a spell, then spring reopens them fast. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly late April. From about late April to around late November, expect open water on the long-run figures. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Lac Damas runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Public data does not answer the access question here. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. Walleye come to jigs worked slow near bottom, and to trolled crankbaits along the drops at dusk. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Lac Lepine, 1.2 km away, makes the obvious fallback. What applies at Lac Damas may have changed since it was mapped.
