Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a proper ripple driven from the SSW and pressure going nowhere. Fish at Lac Cri-Cri should hold close to the calm side of the wind. If you pick one session, make it the night. Change depth before you change anything else. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Lac Cri-Cri falls in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, part of Quebec. The setting is boreal forest on every side. At roughly 6 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. Compared with other Quebec water on our list, it sits high. Nearest town is Weymontachie, 71 km off. Saint-Félicien lies 73 km off, Leblanc another 74 km. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean records list northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish among the fish reported. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. Lac Cri-Cri gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
Between January at about -18°C and July at about 16°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Winter runs most of the calendar, and everything worth doing happens in the gap. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough early May. Open water usually runs from early May until about mid November. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. It sets the rhythm of the year at Lac Cri-Cri.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. For a change of water, Lac Gaston is 1.6 km distant.
