Heavy overcast holding through the day, with flat calm through the day and no real change in pressure. Give shallow cover and weed edges the first hour at Lac de la Tiarelle. The night should out-fish the rest of the day. Take the steady approach over the searching one. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

The Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean entry here is Lac de la Tiarelle, in Quebec. This is taiga ground. At about 22 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. A shoreline of some 3.7 km keeps the choices simple. Compared with other Quebec water on our list, it sits high. Head to Weymontachie, 68 km away, for anything you forgot. For a city, Saguenay is 175 km off. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
There is no published depth for this one, so start shallow and work out. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean records list northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish among the fish reported. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. At Lac de la Tiarelle the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
The range across the year is -18°C to 16°C. Little of the calendar is open water, so timing counts for everything. Look for the thaw near early May; the fishing lifts straight after. Averages suggest open water from about early May through to roughly mid November. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. Lac de la Tiarelle runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
No access rule appears in what we hold. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lac Oublie sits 1.2 km off and takes the overflow. For Lac de la Tiarelle in particular, ask before you travel.
