A grey, even sky over the water, with the water lying quiet and pressure sitting still. The fish at Lac Court are likely to sit near bays that hold the day's warmth. The numbers single out the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Lac Court is one of the Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean listings for Quebec. The surface lies 571 metres up. Small at around 4 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. Our Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean list holds plenty of bigger water. Saint-Félicien sits 73 km from here and is the nearest stop. Then Normandin, 74 km, and Leblanc, 74 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Fish documented in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. The shape of Lac Court rewards a slow walk along one bank.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 16°C, while January sits near -18°C. Open water is the exception rather than the rule here. Count the season from break-up, usually early May. Ice clears near early May and comes back about mid November in a typical year. The shoulder weeks of the open season are the productive ones. On Lac Court the same rules apply, with local timing.
Access is not recorded for this water. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Should this one be busy, Lac Denise is 0.6 km off. None of that is settled for Lac Court in what we hold.
