Timothy Lake near 108 Mile Ranch: Fishing Spots, Seasons and Access

  The Cariboo Regional District end of British Columbia holds Timothy Lake. It sits in pine and birch country. Surface area runs to roughly 4.46 sq km, so plan for one area rather than the whole. • Where to Fish on Timothy Lake

  Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. County-wide records name sockeye salmon, Chinook salmon, bull trout and Coho salmon. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Timothy Lake responds to conditions more than to tactics.

• Seasonal Patterns

  The range across the year is -8°C to 14°C. A full turn of seasons, with the strongest sport on either side of summer. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly mid April.   The access position is unclear from public sources. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first.
