An even grey lid over the water, with a gentle ripple from the NE with pressure dropping. Smallmouth bass should patrol reed fringes and open pockets at Spot 4 through the better hours. A middling, even day, steady rather than spectacular. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.
