Full sun on the water today, with a faint N drift and the barometer heading up. Expect most activity at Lake Lou around the shaded margin through bright spells. The strongest window runs from night into morning. Stay mobile and follow the activity. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Lake Lou is set in Perry County, Alabama. It lies 256 feet above sea level. Small at around 8 acres: two anglers spread out cover most of it. It is a small entry by Perry County standards. The closest town, Marion, is 3.7 miles away. After that come Uniontown at 13 miles and Greensboro at 15 miles. Nearest other option: Lake Heart within 0.2 miles, Lake Betty just 0.2 miles, Lake Mary within 0.2 miles, Lake Miriam just 0.3 miles and Lake Eva within 0.4 miles. This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. Built water gives depth close in, which suits a bank angler. A reservoir gives you a hard edge, a shelf, and not much else. Documented catches and surveys in the area cover backwater darter, blackbanded darter and bluegill. Reporting is uneven, so absence from the list means little. At Lake Lou the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
Typical July readings run about 80°F; by January the average is down near 44°F. The surface stays open the year round. Heat pushes fish deep from June onwards, so start early. November and March are the quiet, comfortable months to be out. On Lake Lou that shapes the whole year. Spring warms the shallows first, so start there.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. For the panfish, a small hook, a float and a piece of worm outfish everything fancy. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Lake Heart, 0.2 miles away, makes the obvious fallback. Signs at Lake Lou carry more weight than any list.
