A cloudless sky and strong light today, with mild air moving in from the N as pressure builds. The productive water at Lake Ada will be around reed fringes and open pockets. Expect the better fishing from night into morning. Give the likely spots time before moving. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Lake Ada lies in Perry County, Alabama. The water sits 269 feet up. This is a pocket water of some 16 acres, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. Some 3.7 miles away sits Marion, the nearest settlement. Tuscaloosa is the closest city, 43 miles away. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it. It holds up in poor weather better than open water does.
We hold no depth figure for this one. Look for where the old bank line still shows under the surface. Rip-rap along the wall holds fish that the open bank never does. Public wildlife records from this area list backwater darter, blackbanded darter, bluegill and green sunfish. Take it as evidence of what swims here, not a promise for one session. On Lake Ada a short move beats a long cast.
Averages move between 44°F in January and 80°F in July. Heat sets the pattern from late spring onward. October and November give a second good stretch as it cools. March through May is the strongest run, with October and November a second stretch. That shapes the year on Lake Ada.
Public data does not answer the access question here. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. For the panfish, a small hook, a float and a piece of worm outfish everything fancy. A landowner's word beats anything printed elsewhere. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. If the gate is shut, Lake Ines at 0.5 miles is the nearest alternative. None of that is settled for Lake Ada in what we hold.
