Damp, showery conditions today, with next to no ripple with the barometer flat. Whatever swims in Lac Sierra should be near points where shallow meets deep. Everything points to the night. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Laurentides in Quebec is where Lac Sierra sits. It stands 383 metres above sea level. With some 22 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. The whole outline is near 2.3 km, and most of it is walkable. For supplies, Ferme-Neuve is 65 km out. For a city, Gatineau is 202 km off. Within a short drive: Lac Marcotte at 1.3 km, Lac Goshawk about 1.9 km, Lac Serape at 2.1 km, Lac Cogut about 2.5 km and Lac Menneval at 2.8 km. No border sits close enough to matter.
Depth figures are not published for this one. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Open biodiversity records for Laurentides list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout and rock bass. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. On Lac Sierra that means starting tight and working out.
July runs about 17°C on average, January about -16°C. Fishing here follows the temperature more than the calendar. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from late April. Climate figures give an open season running late April to mid November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Plan any trip to Lac Sierra around it.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No launch point is recorded nearby, so this is a bank water unless you carry a boat in. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. If the gate is shut, Lac Marcotte at 1.3 km is the nearest alternative. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Sierra for certain.
