Solid cloud cover today, with a consistent blow out of the S with the barometer flat. Give shallow cover and weed edges the first hour at Lac Rowco. The numbers single out the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Lac Rowco is a Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean water, Quebec side. Everything around it is taiga. The water measures roughly 9 hectares, so nothing here is far from anything else. The closest town, Saint-Félicien, is 59 km away. The big place round here is Saguenay, 156 km distant. Also on the doorstep: Lac de l'Humus at 0.6 km, Lac Atlas 1.5 km away, Lac Solar at 1.6 km, Lac Indiana 1.9 km away and Lac Sorbus at 2 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Reported across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean: northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. On Lac Rowco the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.
Expect July near 16°C and January near -18°C on the long-run figures. Open water is the exception rather than the rule here. Once it clears, about early May, the fishing comes on quickly. The lid tends to go about early May and return around mid November. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. Plan around that when you fish Lac Rowco.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Mapping shows an empty shoreline: no ramp, no jetty, no marked entry. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. If the gate is shut, Lac de l'Humus at 0.6 km is the nearest alternative. Confirm access to Lac Rowco locally before you travel.
