Solid cloud cover today, with the surface near flat and pressure going nowhere. On Lac Lark, work the first drop-off and weed lines first. The strongest window is the night. Take the steady approach over the searching one. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

The Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean end of Quebec holds Lac Lark. The water sits 522 metres up. It covers about 4 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. It is high ground by Quebec standards. Supplies mean a trip to Saint-Félicien, 58 km off. It is 156 km to Saguenay, the nearest city. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, recorded fish include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. Lac Lark gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
Expect July near 16°C and January near -18°C on the long-run figures. A short, intense season is the rule this far north. Look for the thaw near early May; the fishing lifts straight after. The season between ice runs from about early May to mid November. The shoulder weeks of the open season are the productive ones. Plan any trip to Lac Lark around it.
Public data does not answer the access question here. Nothing built is recorded close to the bank here. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. A landowner's word beats anything printed elsewhere. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. The nearest alternative is Lac Dart, 1.2 km out. Rules at Lac Lark are worth checking on the day.
