Showers crossing the water today, with light air out of the SSW with the barometer flat. Fish at Lac Quebec should hold close to the shallows early and the drop later. Set the alarm around the night. Change depth before you change anything else. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Quebec holds Lac Quebec, in Mauricie. The setting is boreal forest on every side. Surface area is around 14 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. With about 1.8 km of edge, you can try several depths in one session. The town to know is Weymontachie, 41 km out. After that come La Tuque at 63 km and Manawan at 70 km. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
There is no published depth for this one, so start shallow and work out. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Across Mauricie, recorded fish include northern pike, brook trout, walleye, yellow perch and white sucker. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. The near bank of Lac Quebec is often the one people ignore.
Climate normals give 17°C for July and -16°C for January. Everything is compressed into the middle of the year. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly early May. The open-water window runs from around early May to about mid November in an average year. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. On Lac Quebec the same rules apply, with local timing.
Our records carry no access rule either way. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. The nearest alternative is Lac Rose, 0.8 km out. Check the position on Lac Quebec before loading the car.
