Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a helpful ripple pushed from the WSW with a settled glass. The productive water at Lac Paganakomin will be around structure within a cast of the bank. The night is where the day comes good. Make the first hour count and build on it. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lac Paganakomin is set in Outaouais, Quebec. It sits in pine and birch country. At some 2.30 sq km it is far too large to cover on foot in a day. With 6.8 km or so of shoreline, boat anglers cover ground the bank cannot. It ranks high for size among our Outaouais listings. Nearest town is Maniwaki, 8 km off. The nearest city of size is Gatineau, 109 km away. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Open biodiversity records for Outaouais list pumpkinseed, yellow perch and smallmouth bass. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Lac Paganakomin repays a walk before the first cast.
Expect July near 18°C and January near -14°C on the long-run figures. Seasons are distinct, and each one fishes differently. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from late April. Expect the water usable from around late April until roughly late November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Plan around that when you fish Lac Paganakomin.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. A landowner's word beats anything printed elsewhere. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Failing this one, try Lac Kinoje, 1.3 km away. Rules at Lac Paganakomin are worth checking on the day.
