A rainy spell sitting over the area, with a persistent wind from the SSW and the barometer holding steady. Start the search at Lac Lulu along the first drop-off and weed lines. Everything points to the night. Take the steady approach over the searching one. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lac Lulu is a Lanaudière water, in Quebec. The water sits 448 metres up. At roughly 7 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. The nearest place of any size is Manawan, 40 km away. For a city, Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne is 150 km off. Not far off: Lac Lise at about 1.5 km, Lac Wilfrid the better part of 1.8 km, Lac Labrosse at about 2 km, Lac Perdrix Blanche the better part of 2.1 km and Lac Raoul at about 2.2 km. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Lanaudière records list pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and rock bass among the fish reported. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Lac Lulu responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Climate records put July near 17°C and January near -16°C. The season is measured in weeks rather than months. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from early May. Ice usually gives way near early May, and forms again about mid November. Spring is short and heavy here; autumn is longer and steadier. Time your trip to Lac Lulu by conditions rather than dates.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Should this one be busy, Lac Lise is 1.5 km off. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Lulu for certain.
