Showers crossing the water today, with a steady SSW wind and no real change in pressure. Expect most activity at Lac Fronde around the weed line and any gaps in it. The night carries the best of the day. Fish tidy and take what the day gives. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Night
Lac Fronde belongs to Lanaudière, Quebec. The water sits 437 metres up. At 6 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. The nearest town is Manawan, 37 km away. The big place round here is Saint-Louis-de-Terrebonne, 153 km distant. In the same area: Lac Angelo within 0.6 km, Petit lac Rouge after 0.9 km, Lac Albert within 1 km, Lac Desjardins after 1.1 km and Lac Maille within 1.2 km. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
We hold no survey for this water; read the slope of the shoreline instead. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, smallmouth bass and yellow perch. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Lac Fronde gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
July is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 17°C, while January sits near -16°C. Water stays cold even at the height of the year. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from early May. Expect the water usable from around early May until roughly mid November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. Plan around that when you fish Lac Fronde.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Mapping is blank for access, so scout the approach before committing the car. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Lac Angelo at 0.6 km is the sensible second choice. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Fronde for certain.
