Heavy overcast holding through the day, with mild air moving in from the S and steady pressure. The productive water at Lac Lea will be around any hard bottom among the soft. Not a day the forecast likes; the evening keeps a flicker of interest. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly.

Lac Lea is one of the Côte-Nord waters in Quebec. Height above sea level is 556 metres. At 4 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. On size it sits at the modest end of our Côte-Nord list. Head to Saint-Honoré, 128 km away, for anything you forgot. Further out sit Forestville (130 km) and Saint-Fulgence (131 km). No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Reported across Côte-Nord: logperch. The county list is broader than any single water. The shape of Lac Lea decides where the fish sit.
Averages move between -19°C in January and 15°C in July. Open water arrives late and leaves early, which concentrates the fishing. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around mid May. The open-water window runs from around mid May to about mid November in an average year. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Anyone fishing Lac Lea regularly works to that calendar.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. For the perch, a small jig tipped with worm, dropped along the edges, is hard to beat. Look for a notice board at the entrance. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. For a change of water, Lac Pec is 0.8 km distant. Check the position at Lac Lea before loading the car.
