Flat light and a covered sky today, with a persistent wind from the SSW and no real change in pressure. Expect most activity at Lac Lahaise around any hard bottom among the soft. A tough forecast; the night offers the only real chance. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

You will find Lac Lahaise in Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec. What surrounds it is taiga. At about 19 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The edge runs 3.0 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. Normandin sits 48 km from here and is the nearest stop. Beyond it, Saint-Félicien at 55 km and Albanel at 55 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
We hold no depth figure for this one. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Species logged across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. Fish Lac Lahaise where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
Between January at about -18°C and July at about 16°C, the water has a wide range to work through. The ice season is long here and the open one short. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around early May. The season between ice runs from about early May to mid November. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. That shapes the year on Lac Lahaise.
We hold no note on access for this one. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Mapping records no facilities at all near this water. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. If the gate is shut, Lac Salice at 1.4 km is the nearest alternative. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Lahaise for certain.
