A charged sky with storms about, with a light SSW breeze and the barometer holding steady. Activity on Lac Joc should centre on inflow corners and shaded margins. Not a day the forecast likes; the night keeps a flicker of interest. Lower the pace and stay patient. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Lac Joc is an Outaouais water, Quebec side. It lies 380 metres above sea level. The water measures roughly 2 hectares, so nothing here is far from anything else. Most waters listed here for Outaouais are larger. Saint-Boniface lies 61 km from the water. Beyond it, Maniwaki at 73 km and Ferme-Neuve at 80 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, yellow perch, smallmouth bass and rainbow smelt. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Lac Joc repays a walk before the first cast.
Expect July near 17°C and January near -17°C on the long-run figures. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. Count the season from break-up, usually early May. Open water usually runs from early May until about late November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Anyone fishing Lac Joc regularly works to that calendar.
No access rule appears in what we hold. No made access is recorded, so a short walk in is the likely arrangement. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. For a change of water, Lac Pacey is 0.5 km distant. What applies at Lac Joc may have changed since it was mapped.
