Dull, settled light over the water, with almost no wind to speak of and pressure going nowhere. Start the search at Lac Haut along the weed line and any gaps in it. Plan around the stretch from the day. Change depth before you change anything else. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Capitale-Nationale in Quebec is where Lac Haut sits. What surrounds it is northern bush. Around 17 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. The edge runs 2.3 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. It sits higher than most water we list in Quebec. The closest town, Laurentides, is 18 km distant. Then Saint-Raymond, 41 km, and Fossambault-sur-le-Lac, 52 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Species logged across Capitale-Nationale include lake sturgeon, Atlantic sturgeon, longnose sucker, sauger and channel catfish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Read Lac Haut for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
Climate records put July near 17°C and January near -16°C. A short, intense season is the rule this far north. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough early May. The lid tends to go about early May and return around mid November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Plan around that when you fish Lac Haut.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Mapping shows an empty shoreline: no ramp, no jetty, no marked entry. Walleye come to jigs worked slow near bottom, and to trolled crankbaits along the drops at dusk. Local rules can differ across the county line, so check where you stand. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Failing this one, try Lac Benacis, 2.2 km away. Ask locally about Lac Haut if anything is unclear.
