Flat light and a covered sky today, with air barely moving with a settled glass. Activity on Lac Harry should centre on bays that hold the day's warmth. The productive run goes night into morning. Start on the obvious water and expand from there. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Look for Lac Harry in the Capitale-Nationale part of Quebec. The surface lies 493 metres up. With some 13 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. With about 1.6 km of edge, you can try several depths in one session. Start from Laurentides, 20 km down the road. Sainte-Foy sits 72 km out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Reported across Capitale-Nationale: lake sturgeon, Atlantic sturgeon and longnose sucker. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. On Lac Harry a short move beats a long cast.
In an average year July sits at 17°C and January at -16°C. Cold dominates the year and the fishing works around it. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about early May. Averages place the thaw at early May and the freeze at mid November. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. On Lac Harry the same rules apply, with local timing.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. Walleye come to jigs worked slow near bottom, and to trolled crankbaits along the drops at dusk. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Lac du Renard at 0.4 km is the sensible second choice. Confirm access to Lac Harry locally before you travel.
