Lac du Renard is a Capitale-Nationale water, Quebec side. Spruce and muskeg runs right down to the water. The water measures roughly 2 hectares, so nothing here is far from anything else. It is a small entry by Capitale-Nationale standards. The closest town, Laurentides, is 21 km away. Then Saint-Raymond, 37 km, and Fossambault-sur-le-Lac, 47 km. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Reported across Capitale-Nationale: lake sturgeon, Atlantic sturgeon and longnose sucker. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. On Lac du Renard the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
Between January at about -16°C and July at about 17°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Winter runs most of the calendar, and everything worth doing happens in the gap. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around early May. Average temperatures cross freezing around early May in spring and again near mid November in autumn. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. Lac du Renard fishes to that pattern most years.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Access points are not mapped for this water, which suits people who like quiet. For walleye, a jig and minnow near the bottom is the standard; evenings beat middays. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. If the gate is shut, Lac Harry at 0.4 km is the nearest alternative. Ask locally about Lac du Renard if anything is unclear.
