Soft grey light all day today, with almost no wind to speak of and the barometer holding steady. Whatever swims in Lac des Agnathes should be near points where shallow meets deep. A slow day overall; the morning is the best of a quiet lot. Go lighter and slower than usual. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Quebec, is where Lac des Agnathes sits. The country round it is pine and birch from end to end. About 3 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. Most waters listed here for Abitibi-Témiscamingue are larger. 111 km away sits Saint-Boniface, the nearest town. The big place round here is Gatineau, 215 km distant. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Records held for Abitibi-Témiscamingue cover northern pike, yellow perch, walleye, white sucker and brown bullhead. The county list is broader than any single water. Read Lac des Agnathes before you fish it and the day goes better.
Expect July near 17°C and January near -16°C on the long-run figures. Cold locks it up for a good stretch each year. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near early May. On the long-run averages the water opens up around early May and starts locking again about late November. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. It holds true on Lac des Agnathes more years than not.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. A launch point is recorded some 780 m off. There is camping recorded roughly 710 m off. There are toilets 790 m off. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Lac Fiel, 0.3 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Nothing on Lac des Agnathes should be assumed from this page alone.
