Overcast skies today, with a mirror surface most of the day and steady pressure. The water to cover at Lac Alet is windblown banks where food collects. A hard day on paper; the morning edges the rest. Go lighter and slower than usual. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Set in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Lac Alet is a Quebec water. Country round the bank runs to rolling bush. It measures about 19 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. The bank runs about 2.0 km all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. For supplies, Saint-Boniface is 112 km out. Val-d'Or lies 116 km off, Maniwaki another 122 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Reported across Abitibi-Témiscamingue: northern pike, yellow perch, walleye and white sucker. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. Treat Lac Alet as a water to read rather than to cover.
Long-term averages put July at about 17°C and January near -16°C. Fishing here follows the temperature more than the calendar. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around early May. Ice clears near early May and comes back about late November in a typical year. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. It holds true on Lac Alet more years than not.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. A slipway 1.1 km out gives trailer access. Mapping shows a campsite some 1.1 km from the water. Mapping records toilets within 1.1 km. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. For a change of water, Lac des Agnathes is 0.5 km distant. Nothing here settles the position at Lac Alet for certain.
