Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a stiffish breeze from the SSW and pressure sitting still. Activity on Lac de Nuit should centre on bays that hold the day's warmth. The night should out-fish the rest of the day. Take the steady approach over the searching one. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Lac de Nuit lies within the bounds of Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec. It sits in boreal forest. With some 22 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. The whole outline is near 3.3 km, and most of it is walkable. Nearest place of any size is Saint-Félicien, 27 km away. The nearest city of size is Saguenay, 117 km away. No border sits close enough to matter.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Species logged across Saguenay/Lac-Saint-Jean include northern pike, Atlantic salmon, lake whitefish and fallfish. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. The shape of Lac de Nuit decides where the fish sit.
Between January at about -18°C and July at about 16°C, the water has a wide range to work through. This is a two-season water: locked, then wide open. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around early May. Average temperatures cross freezing around early May in spring and again near mid November in autumn. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Plan around that when you fish Lac de Nuit.
We hold no note on access for this one. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Lac du Chasseur sits 0.7 km off and takes the overflow. Nothing here settles the position at Lac de Nuit for certain.
