Heavy overcast holding through the day, with stillness over the whole water and pressure sitting still. Lac Dargis should fish best around reed fringes and open pockets today. Quiet conditions all day, with the night marginally better. Save the long walk for a better forecast. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Quebec holds Lac Dargis, in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. This is pine and birch country. Small at around 4 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. For supplies, Val-d'Or is 99 km out. It is 240 km to Gatineau, the nearest city. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Open biodiversity records for Abitibi-Témiscamingue list northern pike, yellow perch, walleye, white sucker and brown bullhead. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Read Lac Dargis for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
Long-term averages put July at about 17°C and January near -16°C. A full turn of seasons, with the strongest sport on either side of summer. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly late April. Expect the water usable from around late April until roughly late November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Plan any trip to Lac Dargis around it.
Public data does not answer the access question here. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Should this one be busy, Lac Archelles is 0.4 km off. Check the position at Lac Dargis before loading the car.
