Overcast skies today, with light air out of the NE with the glass holding level. Fish at Lac Clovis should hold close to sheltered bays and points. Expect the better fishing from night into morning. Give the likely spots time before moving. A properly cold day, so expect slow, deliberate fishing.

The Nord-du-Québec entry here is Lac Clovis, in Quebec. The bank is 227 metres above sea level. This is sizeable water at about 2.92 sq km, and a boat opens up most of it. Around 32 km of margin, so directions matter more than a general plan. It lies lower than most water we list in Quebec. Kuujjuaq sits 200 km from here and is the nearest stop. Then Puvirnituq, 356 km, and Inukjuak, 406 km. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
There is no published depth for this one, so start shallow and work out. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Public occurrence data for Nord-du-Québec names Arctic charr, brook trout and lake trout. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. Lac Clovis repays a walk before the first cast.
Average temperature peaks around 12°C in July and bottoms out near -24°C in January. Everything is compressed into the middle of the year. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around mid June. The open-water window runs from around mid June to about late October in an average year. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. On Lac Clovis that shapes the whole year.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. The nearest alternative is Lac Troie, 18 km out. Confirm access to Lac Clovis locally before you travel.
